Johor Bahru, Malaysia | 21 January 2026 — Himel officially set the tone for 2026 in Southeast Asia (SEA) with the successful delivery of its first seminar and technical event of the year, held at the Sheraton Hotel, Johor Bahru. The event welcomed 75+ electrical engineers and system designers, reinforcing Himel’s commitment to market education, product innovation, and engineering excellence across the region.

Advancing Engineering Knowledge Through Industry Collaboration
Conducted in collaboration with the Institute of Engineers Malaysia (IEM), the seminar was presented by Jason Sonido, Himel International Technical Manager. The session delivered an in-depth review of the engineering fundamentals behind Low Voltage Switchgear (LVSG), with a strong emphasis on the critical role of earthing systems in electrical safety and system performance.

Designed to bridge theoretical principles with real-world application, the seminar equipped participants with practical knowledge that can be directly applied to daily system design, specification, and project execution.

Participants gained comprehensive insights into:

  • LVSG construction, busbar calculation, and design workflow
  • Electrical earthing methods and scheme selection
  • Practical application of LVFD products in compliant system design

All participants who completed the seminar received official certificates issued by IEM, enhancing professional development and industry recognition.

By partnering with IEM, we aim to deliver technical programs that go beyond products and focus on building strong engineering foundations,” said Swee Keong Woon, Country Sales Manager of Himel Malaysia. “This seminar supports our mission to help engineers design safer, more reliable, and future-ready low voltage systems across Malaysia, especially in Johor Bahru.

Supporting Regional Engagement Through Product Training
Complementing the technical seminar, Himel also conducted a product training session on 20 January 2026 in Melaka for Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR) officers. The session covered Himel’s top-selling LV and Final Distribution (FD) products, alongside the introduction of updated and newly launched solutions from the Low Voltage and Final Distribution range. This initiative supported stronger product understanding and alignment within the local public infrastructure sector.

This two-day engagement marked a strategic milestone in Himel’s 2026 SEA roadmap, reinforcing collaboration with professional engineering institutions while continuing to support engineers and stakeholders through technical education, innovation, and practical expertise.

As Himel continues to expand its footprint across Southeast Asia, initiatives like this seminar remain central to the company’s mission to deliver safe, reliable, and high-performance electrical solutions for a rapidly evolving market.
